Gamification Aspects

After some thought we came up with the idea of competing with other Npower customers from your local area to win incentives and discounts off of your bills based on the percentage saved over each month per household.  We thought that you could have a progression of themes, based on environmental issues. The first theme we came up with was the iceberg melting as mentioned earlier in the blog; however we thought that this was a bit rudimentary and after some discussion we thought it would be better to add some penguins.

I created a quick cartoon style animation of an iceberg with some penguins on it. The lower your fuel consumption the less the iceberg melts hence saving the penguins, this could be extended with more arctic or antarctic life i.e saving wales or polar bears.

The second them was based on planting forests, again the greener your energy use the better the tree will grow. there is a lot of room for expansion of these small games by adding the growth of more trees, plants and flowers.

This leaves alot of room for expansion of the gamification aspect of the applications
